The Salem Creek Greenway expansion has been a highly anticipated project in Winston-Salem, offering residents a seamless route to nearby attractions.
Transportation planners held a public informational session last Thursday to gather feedback on their plans to extend the greenway from Marketplace Mall to Forsyth Technical Community College, making it more accessible for residents in neighborhoods west of Peters Creek Parkway.
The extension, however, faces challenges such as the need for safer crossing points over Peters Creek and Silas Creek parkways. The city's Department of Transportation recognizes the importance of a feasibility study to determine the best options for the trail's extension.
